MacBook, indirect marketing or an unintentional cult?

I have never been the writing type and perhaps this is the first and last article I will write. I guess the reason was I am usually satisfied with the answers I find in more experienced writers’ blogs.
But now as I am writing my thoughts; it feels good to put it in writing.
I am writing this article because there is a question that has been on my mind lately; that question is marketing. Is it always intentional or planned?
Let me explain. I have always had a huge respect for marketers, mainly because they speak to human brains and feelings, wisely and smartly. Without too much pressure or annoyance, it is like a recipe you prepare and cook; you do not want to overcook or eat it half cooked. I find it a difficult craft to master; it can also break or make one’s brand and market.
Apple; one of the most profitable companies in the world (if not the most) had its way as well with marketing. Some debate that Apple is all about marketing and the sense of exclusivity and being cool, some say it is because of its easy and cool ecosystem. I tend to agree with both.
However, I cannot help but notice that in most of the articles I have read (and I read a lot) especially the productivity and career enhancement publications like the very good folks from Business Insider and Tech Insider, there is always a MacBook on a photo when the article is talking about something that relates to productivity, entrepreneurship, career enhancement or being smart in general. Not only business articles but also social blogs and educational websites.
Go ahead, try and look for the articles that have those subjects and look for the pictures included in those articles; I will wait.
I am almost sure you will find a man/woman drinking coffee, feeling determined and looking at his/her MacBook. that’s when the question in the subject popped in my head. Why is every entrepreneur/programmer/job Seeker doing all those positive things in the article with his MacBook? Is Apple secretly marketing their MacBook in the articles? paying for product replacements perhaps ? No; it can’t be… I don’t think it’s right to do that, to sneak in the thought of success with the MacBook in our heads. But then again…. may be its just a coincidence. I searched for one article that has a picture for a Lenovo or Microsoft laptop for example. The only ones I found were articles talking about Microsoft surface, Lenovo or HP. and that’s it!!
Hmmm…; May be its right to send hidden messages, do indirect marketing, perhaps they are just so smart they implanted this idea in my head: Success comes with a MacBook. Or maybe it is unintentional and MacBook apparently is the way to success.
I have a MacBook and its very good; I don’t know why but it is. I don’t think my next laptop will be something other than MacBook either. I asked my friends and they said it’s not only the good ecosystem; they are very stylish as well and probably that’s why they appear on most of the American movies and media. I remember this one scene in the movie “we bought a zoo” where Matt Damon was checking his late wife’s pictures and remembering the good moments.
Why the notebook wasn’t HP or DELL? They are American too if we want to talk about nationalism.
Thank you so much for reading. I welcome your feedback on these thoughts whether positive or negative; your ideas can help me figure what’s going on.
